Gallinas Valley Little League Player Evaluation Instructions
To safely prepare for the upcoming season, Gallinas Valley Little League (GVLL) is allowing players to submit a video evaluation. Player evaluations are required for all players league age 9 and above. These evaluations help us assign players to the appropriate division for their age and skills. The deadline to submit your player's video is March 1st.
A player’s league age is their age as of August 31, 2021. For example, a 10-year-old whose birthday is on August 31, 2021 is league age 11.
To create a video evaluation, have your player properly warm up and use a smartphone/digital recording device to record the following videos:
1. Player Introduction: Start each video with your player clearly stating their name, age, grade, and school they attend.
2. Catching & Ground Balls: Have your player catch and throw 3 balls then receive and throw 3 ground balls. Match the speed and difficulty appropriate to your player.
3. Swinging: Have your player take 3 swings off a tee into a net, fencing, or open space. You can use a whiffle ball, tennis ball, or baseball. If no tee is available, record your player taking 3 swings.
4. Running: Have your player sprint to a spot about 60 feet away and back.
When recording, keep the focus exclusively on the player. Videos should be no more than 1 minute in length. Here are some example videos:

After you shoot your player videos, compile them into 1 video using an app like iMove (iPhone/iPad) or Google Photos (Android). Name the video with your players name.
Download the videos to the League dropbox provided in an email you received from GVLL (last reminder sent 2/25)
