COVID Safety Protocol Update for Upper Divisions

The GVLL board has determined to make some modifications to our COVID safety protocol given the progress that Marin County has achieved in COVID statistics and loosened restrictions on activities.

Thinking of the health and safety of our players beyond COVID we are now allowing players in the upper divisions (Minors, Majors, Intermediates and Juniors) to use the dugouts. The upper division games can last ~3-½ hours and with the hotter temperatures these past couple of days we want to protect our players from potential heat exhaustion. Please note that players must continue to wear their face mask to prevent the spread of COVID.

Additionally, we will have the umpire move behind home plate and abide by our face mask requirement.

These new updates go into effect immediately.

For the lower divisions (Intro to Tee ball, Tee ball, AA and AAA) we will continue to prohibit the use of the dugout except as an entry/exit point since the games are shorter and typically earlier/later in the day. We are hopeful that Marin County will be able to move to the less-restrictive Yellow tier in the next few weeks. At that time we will consider the use of the dugouts for the lower divisions as well. Please stay tuned for further updates.
