Skills Assessment – Important

Beginning at league age 9, players are placed in divisions using both skill and safety considerations. Any player who is 9 or older by August 31, 2026 must complete a skills evaluation. League age 8 players may participate in the skills assessment voluntarily.

Skills assessments will take place the weekend of January 10–11 at Miller Creek Middle School — more details to come.

Call for Volunteers

Gallinas Valley Little League is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization dedicated to youth baseball in our community. The league is managed by parents and community members who generously donate their time for our kids.

Volunteer roles include Team Parents, Coaches, Snack Bar support, Umpires, Field Maintenance, Equipment and Uniform coordinators, and more. These efforts are what make our league successful.

When registering, please consider signing up as a volunteer or coach to help keep GVLL a great place for kids to play and have fun.

2026 Spring Season – Frequently Asked Questions

Below are answers to common questions about Gallinas Valley Little League’s 2026 Spring baseball season and how registration works.

What ages can register for the 2026 Spring season?

The 2026 Spring season is open to league ages 4–15. Younger players typically start in Intro to Tee Ball (age 4) or Tee Ball (ages 5–6), and older players progress through AA, AAA, Minors, Majors, Intermediates, and Juniors based on age and experience.

Which division is right for my child?

Division placement is based on league age and, for older players, skill and safety considerations. The League Info page describes each level in more detail, and the league uses skills assessments for players 9 and older to help ensure a good fit. If you are unsure, you can register in the most likely division and contact the league with questions.

Do 4–7 year olds need to live in the league boundaries?

For the 2026 Spring season, players ages 4–7 do not need to reside in or attend school in the 94903 ZIP code to participate in GVLL’s younger divisions. Families from nearby communities are welcome to join.

Who is required to attend a skills assessment?

Any player who is 9 or older by August 31, 2026 must attend a skills evaluation. Players who are league age 8 may choose to participate on a voluntary basis. Skills assessments help the league place players in appropriate divisions for both development and safety.

When and where are the assessments held?

Skills assessments are scheduled for the weekend of January 10–11 at Miller Creek Middle School. Specific times and any make-up options are communicated by the league as the date approaches.

How do I find my child’s league age?

League age is determined using the official Little League International age chart. You can check your player’s league age using the online chart and calculator available on the Little League website.

How do we register?

Registration is completed online. Visit the GVLL registration page, select the appropriate division for your player, and complete the required information. A confirmation email will be sent once registration is submitted.

Are volunteers needed?

Yes. GVLL is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization. When you register, you will see options to volunteer as a coach, team parent, umpire, snack bar helper, or to support fields, uniforms, and equipment. The league depends on parent and community involvement to provide a great experience for all players.

We’ll share more updates as we gear up for Opening Day (3/14 for Majors and Minors) and the 2026 Spring season. We look forward to seeing our players and families back at the fields!
